University of
Central Florida has a division I program and participates in the
NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association).
UCF offers a variety of sports: Football, Baseball, Tennis,
Golf, Softball, Track, Cross Country, Volleyball, and Basketball and
competes in the TAAC (Trans America Atlantic Conference) with ten
other schools.
The University makes a strong
academic commitment to its student-athletes. The Office of Academic
Services for Student-Athletes collaborates with the Athletic
Department to ensure that student-athletes balance the academic
demands of the full-time student with the competition of Division I
intercollegiate athletics through the NCAA/CHAMPS Life Skills
Program. The focus of the program is on the five commitments:
athletic excellence, academic excellence, personal development,
service, and career development.
Through cooperation with the
college departments, professional advisors counsel student-athletes
according to requirements for their program of study. Academic
support services include organized study sessions, tutorial
services, time management and study skills.
