In its early days , the Florida Technological University's athletic program was a shoestring operation without any shoes to lace up. Frank Rohter, FTU's original athletics director, first formed a basketball team to play in Orlando's recreational league. With no almost no money for sports, it was up to students and staff to get things started.

MARCHING KNIGHTS

Marching knights were formed after the start of the football program in 1979. to begin implementation of the marching program, Mr. Jerry Gardner was hired as the first Director on July 1, 1980. with just under three months until the first game, seemingly endless amounts of work had to be done in order to establish the Marching Knights.

CHEER PROGRAM

the UCF cheerleaders have become a staple at UCF athletics events. From exhilarating sideline cheers to breathtaking performances, the spirit program makes Knights games memorable. The squad also competes in the national championship.
